President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev celebrated the Nauryz holiday together with the public at the “Expo” Exhibition Center’s ethno-village. This was reported by the press service of Akorda on March 21, according to Adyrna correspondent.
The President congratulated the gathered crowd on Nauryz and shared his warm wishes.
“The Great Day of the Nation is our people’s most revered holiday. It is a tradition passed down from our ancestors. During this bright spring festival, all of nature is renewed, and day and night become equal. The Kazakh people have been celebrating Nauryz since ancient times. More than anything, Nauryz is a holiday of goodwill. On this day, homes are filled with festive feasts, people come together, exchange well wishes, and extend kindness to those in need. This year, the Great Day of the Nation coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, which holds deep significance for our country. Our religion and traditions are intertwined, forming a unique identity for our people.”
President Tokayev also noted that since last year, Nauryz has been celebrated for ten days under a new concept, with each day carrying a special theme and valuable lessons.
“Although Nauryz is a shared holiday among many Eastern nations, our country has its own unique way of celebrating the Great Day of the Nation. This festival holds a special place in our cultural heritage. International guests visit Kazakhstan during this time to experience our traditions and customs. We must continue to promote our spiritual wealth. According to the Nauryznama calendar, today is the Day of Unity. Harmony and solidarity have always been of great importance to our nation. Regardless of ethnicity or religion, all people in our country come together to celebrate Nauryz. Thanks to our unity, we look to the future with confidence and continue to move forward. We are carrying out comprehensive reforms, modernizing the country’s political system, and implementing large-scale economic projects. Through our balanced foreign policy, Kazakhstan has earned recognition as a respected nation on the global stage.”
