On the evening of March 13, an American Airlines plane carrying passengers caught fire at Denver International Airport, Fox News reported, according to the Adyrna national portal.
According to the information, the aircraft departed from Colorado Springs and was en route to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport but was forced to make an emergency landing in Denver.
After landing, as passengers were preparing to disembark, an engine-related issue caused a fire. The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 PM local time.
“All 172 passengers and six crew members were evacuated and sent to the terminal. We express our gratitude to the crew, Denver airport staff, and emergency responders for their quick and courageous actions in ensuring the safety of all passengers and airport personnel,” the airline stated.
According to airport officials, the fire broke out at Gate C38 East.
Video footage shows passengers evacuating via the aircraft’s wing while thick smoke billowed from the plane.
The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
