Former U.S. President Donald Trump purchased an electric car to show support for Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Adyrna national portal reports, citing Anadolu Agency.
Trump drove the Tesla into the White House lawn and posed for a photo with Musk in front of the cameras. According to the former president, he usually does not drive, but he bought the car to demonstrate his support for Musk.
“I’m buying it because, first of all, it’s a great product. Secondly, he has dedicated his strength and life to this industry, and I believe he is being treated unfairly,” Trump said.
He posed with a red-colored car.
“Unfortunately, I can’t drive. It’s been a long time since I last drove a car, but this one will stay at the White House. I’ll allow my staff to use it,” he added.
Previously, on March 2 and 8, protests took place in several U.S. regions in front of Tesla dealerships. Some dealership locations also experienced acts of vandalism.
