At the meeting of the political council presidium of the “Aul” party, a unanimous decision was made to dismiss Zhiguli Dairabayev from his position as deputy chairman of the party, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
Additionally, during the presidium meeting of the party’s political council, violations of the party’s charter by the Aktobe regional branch were discussed, and the head of the regional branch received a strict reprimand.
Zhiguli Dairabayev is an experienced politician who has worked in agriculture for many years and has served as a member of the Mazhilis. His career has spanned various sectors of agriculture and public service.
Although the party did not fully disclose the reason for his dismissal, it was emphasized that the decision was made unanimously.
It is worth noting that on February 26, during a session of the Mazhilis, Zhiguli Dairabayev stated that he felt like he was in another country when visiting North Kazakhstan. While discussing amendments and additions to laws on cultural and educational issues, the deputy raised concerns about the language issue.
“A question for those responsible for ideology: When will the names of settlements and streets in the northern regions be changed to our state language? It’s a disgrace, my friends—we have been living in an independent Kazakhstan for 34 years. I visited the northern region on Saturday. When you enter, you feel like you’re in another country. We have no complaints against anyone. But we, the Kazakh nation, are the state-forming nation. Why isn’t everything in Kazakh? Who is preventing this? Where are you looking? It hurts to see this,” said Zhiguli Dairabayev.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Aibek Sydykov previously stated that, by order of the head of state, the renaming process had been suspended due to natural disasters and other factors. However, a roadmap for 2024–2025 has now been approved, prioritizing this issue, and plans include giving new names to settlements.
Since 2015, Zhiguli Dairabayev has served as the chairman of the Kazakhstan Farmers’ Union’s Zhambyl regional branch. Since 2019, he has been the chairman of the Kazakhstan Farmers’ Association. In 2021, he was deputy chairman of the Republican Commission on Land Reform.
Since 2023, he has been a deputy of the Mazhilis of the VIII convocation from the “Aul” party, and in 2022, he was a candidate for the presidency of Kazakhstan.
He also headed the Agro-Industrial Complex Committee of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and was well known for his work in agriculture and land reform.
It is worth recalling that in April 2023, Zhiguli Dairabayev’s sons, Marat Dairabayev and Didar Moldakalyk, were convicted of fraud related to the embezzlement of state subsidies.
A court in Taraz found them guilty of misappropriating funds allocated for the purchase of “Albion” strawberry seedlings. The total damage to the state exceeded 550 million tenge. Both were sentenced to five years of suspended imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Along with the deputy’s sons, the former deputy head of the Zhambyl Regional Department of Agriculture, Yerlan Kulkeev, and businessman Yelzhan Yelibay were also investigated. Kulkeev was banned from holding public office for life and sentenced to six years in prison, while Yelibay had his property confiscated and was sentenced to five years in prison.
