The Almaty Department of Culture has stated that there are no plans to relocate the city’s zoo to Alatau, reports the national portal Adyrna.
According to officials, the Almaty Zoo will continue to operate at its current location and will not be moved to another city.
The Almaty Region administration recently raised the issue of relocating the zoo during a government meeting on the development of Alatau City, but no final decision was made.
Instead, the zoo is set to undergo modernization and reconstruction to meet international standards, with the work planned to be carried out in phases until 2028. Additionally, improvements will be made to enhance the conditions for animals and create a more comfortable experience for visitors.
