Protests by students in Serbia are intensifying. Young people have embarked on a two-day march to the city of Novi Sad. This was reported by Euronews, according to the Adyrna national portal.
The protesting youth highlighted that people lost their lives a year ago due to government negligence.
On Thursday, hundreds of students traveled 80 kilometers from Belgrade to Novi Sad, where the roof of the train station collapsed last year, resulting in the deaths of 15 people. The tragic incident triggered the biggest political crisis in recent years, and protests continue in Belgrade and other cities.
This march is another way for us to show how radical we are, that we will not stop, and we will go until the end, said Vasily Milanovich, a student at Belgrade Technical University.
The students are demanding a transparent investigation and the punishment of those responsible, convinced that corruption and nepotism led to the poor quality of repairs at the station.
Last week, the protests escalated into a strike, after which the students blocked the main road in Belgrade for a day.
