Today is Human Rights Day. On December 10, 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, reports the national portal Adyrna. This day has been celebrated worldwide since 1950.

The day emphasizes the protection of human rights regardless of race, gender, nationality, or religious belief. Today, it stands as a symbol of freedom, equality, and justice for all people.

The Declaration has been translated into more than 500 languages and is considered a binding standard for all nations, states, and individuals to strive to uphold.

Additionally, this document has helped establish over 60 instruments in the field of human rights, setting a unified international standard for the protection of human rights.
