On December 8, in Las Vegas (USA), the co-main event of UFC 310 took place, where Kazakhstan’s Shavkat Rakhmonov defeated Irish fighter Ian Garry, earning his 19th career win in mixed martial arts, reports the Adyrna national portal.
The fight was scheduled for five rounds as a contest for the interim welterweight title. Both fighters entered the octagon undefeated, with Rakhmonov holding a record of 18-0 and Garry at 15-0.
Ian Garry suffered his first loss in the UFC at the hands of Shavkat Rakhmonov.
The match lasted all five rounds, with Rakhmonov claiming victory via unanimous decision. Despite Garry proving to be a strong opponent, particularly in the final round when Rakhmonov faced challenges, the Kazakh fighter managed to finish the bout successfully. This marked Rakhmonov’s 19th career win, including seven under the UFC banner.
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Shavkat Rakhmonov on his victory and wished him continued success in professional sports.
