In the 5th round of the UEFA Nations League group stage, the Kazakhstan national team lost at home to the Austria national team, reports the “Adyrna” national portal, citing Sportburo.kz.

The match in Almaty ended with a 2:0 victory for the Austrians.

In the 15th minute, Christoph Baumgartner opened the scoring, and in the 23rd minute, Kazakhstan’s Alexander Marochkin was sent off, leaving the home team with ten players. A few minutes later, Michael Gregoritsch scored the second goal.

This marked the fourth defeat for the Kazakhstan national team under Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov. Kazakhstan finished the Nations League B3 group at the bottom of the standings with just 1 point and no goals scored.

It is worth noting that earlier, sports journalist Ermekhammad Maulen suggested that Stanislav Cherchesov might leave the position as head coach of the Kazakhstan football team.
