In the city of Zhitikara, Kostanay region, a fire in a private house caused the roof to collapse, resulting in the death of five children, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to the regional administration, the fire started at 4:29 AM. Although firefighters arrived at the scene within seven minutes, the house was completely engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by 6:08 AM.
“Regrettably, during the debris removal, minors born in 2011, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023 were found in the house. Only the eldest child, born in 2011, survived. According to preliminary information, the children’s mother had gone out to visit a friend in the evening, while their father is in prison,” stated the regional administration’s announcement.
Specialists are investigating the causes of the incident. The fire has been submitted for technical examination.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents not to leave small children unattended.
