A memorial monument was built in honor of the miners who died in Karaganda, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
On October 28, 2023, 46 miners were killed in the territory of the mine named after Kostenko. According to the Akimat of Karaganda region, relatives and colleagues of the miners, representatives of the authorities, management of the Qarmet company gathered to lay flowers in memory of the deceased miners.
"The tragic incident at the Kostenko mine left a deep mark in the hearts of not only the people of Karagandy, but all the people of Kazakhstan. It is an irreparable grief. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. In those days, the head of state personally came to Karaganda to support the families who lost their loved ones. we did everything possible to get support and help. During his last visit to our region, the President reiterated the need to focus on ensuring labor safety and decent working conditions for miners," said Ermaganbet Bolekpaev, mayor of Karagandy region.
The author of the memorial was Karaganda sculptor and artist Igor Bagramov.
