"Samruk-Kazyna" national welfare fund has decided to buy 100% shares of Kairat Boranbayev's former company "AziyaGas Chunja" LLP. This was announced on the KASE website, reports the national portal "Adyrna".
It should be noted that "AziaGas Chundja" company was established in 2014. It is engaged in gas transportation and sale. Before that, the Financial Monitoring Agency estimated the value of the company at 14 billion tenge. Currently, "AziaGas Chunja" LLP belongs to the State Property and Privatization Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2023, Kairat Boranbayev was arrested on charges of embezzling large amounts of state funds and legalizing shadow income. According to the investigation, in 2019, funds of QazaqGaz national company were stolen during gas transportation through "AziaGas Chunja" LLP.
Before that, Kairat Boranbayev transferred oil fields, service enterprises, hotels, shopping and entertainment complexes, fitness centers, office buildings and many other assets to the state ownership. In particular, there is "AziaGas Chundja" LLP, Comfort Hotel Astana, FitNation fitness club chain, "KazTurboRemont" plant, "Almaly" shopping and entertainment complex.
