The pre-trial investigation of the former Minister of Justice Marat Beketaev has been completed. The press service of Antikor wrote about it today, July 12, the reporter of "Adyrna" reported.
He, together with the management of a private company, is suspected of embezzling large amounts of budget funds, committing fraud and illegally participating in business activities.
Also, the agency announced that the investigation of the criminal case against the former Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Yerlan Kozhagapanov and the management of the contractor organization on suspicion of abuse of official powers and embezzlement of budget funds was completed.
"In each of the mentioned cases, the damage exceeds 1 billion tenge," the message says.
Let's remind that Marat Beketaev was arrested on October 21, 2023 on suspicion of causing great harm to the state. He was the Minister of Justice in 2016-2022. The official, who resigned after the January incident, was soon appointed as an adviser to the Prime Minister.
It became known on March 1 that the former vice-minister Yerlan Kozhagapanov was arrested in a temporary detention center. He was arrested on suspicion of serious corruption.
