For the first time in the last 200 years, eight wild Przewalski's horses were brought to Kazakhstan as part of the "Return of Wild Horses" reintroduction project, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

Przewalski's horses were brought to the reserve "Altyn dala" in the Kostanay region. This was explained by the Forestry Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The only wild species in the world, the Przewalski's horse comes from the Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic. In total, the project plans to return 40 wild horses to the steppes of Kazakhstan in the next five years.

According to the initiative, wild horses contribute to the pollination of plants and increase the biological diversity of nature by fertilizing the soil with manure.
