Serik Zhubandykov, the vice-president of JSC "Kazakhfilm" National Film Studio named after Shaken Aymanov, was convicted. This was announced today, June 7, by the Anti-Corruption Agency, the correspondent of "Adyrna" reported.

"He was convicted for embezzlement, causing damage to the state by illegally implementing the "Turkistan City" dummy fortress, which was built at a price 44 times lower than the market value, as part of the "Nomads" film project on the banks of the Ile, Almaty region.

According to the court verdict, Zhubandykov was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment.
