It became known that oil was spilled in the territory of the Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

The executive director of the Globus Center wrote about the oil spill on his social network page.

"According to space monitoring, an oil spill was detected in the territory of the Kashagan oil field in the Caspian Sea on March 30. According to the space monitoring group, "the European Sentinel-1A radar image shows the spill near the Kazakh Kashagan oil production site," Galina Chernova wrote in an online post.

Atyrau Regional Department of Ecology expressed an opinion on the matter.

"If these facts are confirmed, the Department of Environmental Protection will conduct an unscheduled inspection of the NCOC company. The results will be reported in addition," the statement said.

Thus, the department will go to the sea to take samples based on the facts of the oil spill in the territory of the Kashagan field.
