The dead bodies of 40 seals were found on the seashore in Mangystau region, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"After the storm, our specialists constantly monitor the sea coast to look for discarded bodies. They died elsewhere, the medical examination will determine the reasons. The eyes may have been damaged after death. Birds snatch them from among the dead animals and use them as fodder," says Andrey Rutskyi, acting head of the fish inspection in Mangystau region.
The storm has not been developing in the Caspian Sea for the past three days. A photo of seals with damaged eyes appeared on social networks. On March 29, carcasses of 40 seals were found on the shore between Cape Urdyuk and Bautinskaya pit in Tupkaragan region.
According to experts, after the preliminary examination of the corpses, no signs of physical injuries, torture or violent killing were found.
