The head of state Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev spoke with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev by phone, "Adyrna" correspondent reported with reference to Akorda.
During the conversation, the Head of State Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the successful passing of the national referendum on changes to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted that the result of the national election was a proof of the great confidence and support of the Uzbek people in the strategic orientation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their intention to strengthen strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
The heads of states noted the rapid development of Kazakh-Uzbek relations and discussed the issue of implementation of agreements reached earlier.
The presidents also reviewed the schedule of events planned for the future.
