Kazakhstan will send 250 tons of humanitarian aid to Turkey. The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Turkey to the country, Ufuk Ekiji, announced this at a press conference held at the embassy, "Adyrna" national portal reported with reference to BAQ.KZ.

On the second day of the earthquake, the state of Kazakhstan prepared and sent the first search and rescue team consisting of 41 people to Turkey. Two days later, the second team also left for Turkey. A total of 100 people and a team of 6 dogs participated in the search and rescue operations. On this occasion, I would like to thank the rescuers, the honorable Minister of Emergencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for their work. The rescue team, who performed their duties with great dedication and success, saved many lives and rescued our compatriots from under the rubble. "We met the group of rescuers at the airport last Sunday, when they returned to Astana at night," the ambassador noted.

He also spoke about how much humanitarian aid our country has provided.

In addition, Kazakhstan provided official monetary assistance in the amount of 1 million dollars. An additional 55 tons of humanitarian aid provided by the government was also delivered to the earthquake zone last weekend. Humanitarian goods brought to our embassies and consulates by Kazakhstani volunteers were sent to our country and handed over to AFAD. A significant part of the collected humanitarian goods will be delivered by planes allocated by the command of the National Guard of Kazakhstan. Today, the first plane took off from Astana. It is planned to send another plane from Almaty tomorrow. Together with these deliveries, about 250 tons of humanitarian aid will be sent from Kazakhstan, said Ufuk Ekiji.

As it is known, among the mentioned necessary items, the most necessary ones are tents, blankets, bed bags, generators, heaters. The Government of Kazakhstan has also sent essential items such as mobile toilets and bedding.

In addition to material aid, residents of Kazakhstan are also providing monetary aid. So far, about 5 million dollars have been deposited into AFAD's special official earthquake account. In this regard, I would like to express special thanks to the Ministry of Information and Social Development. "With the campaign they started and the account they opened, they gave us a lot of support for our fundraising campaign," he said.
