Maksat Kozhabayev, the former deputy chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was arrested on suspicion of taking a bribe. This was reported by the National Security Committee, the national portal "Adyrna" wrote.

"On January 9, the National Security Committee arrested M. Kozhabayev, a former official of the law enforcement agency, on suspicion of corruption. Investigations are ongoing. Other information is not subject to publication," the official statement said.

Let us remind you that Maksat Kozhabayev was appointed as the deputy chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency in July 2021 and was dismissed from his post in April 2022.
