Omarkhan Oksikbaev, a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan, strongly criticized the airline "Air Astana". He wrote about this on his Facebook page, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to him, no one can control Air Astana.
"A fair Kazakhstan means that we want justice to prevail in every case. However, the steps of that justice is not fully visible. Today, I will tell you about the giant companies that are deceiving us right and left, taking advantage of the negligence of our authorized bodies and picking the pockets of our people. One of them is the Air Astana company. We were shocked by the high prices of the tickets. In 2006, when I was the head of the Accounts Committee, we inspected this company and uncovered a lot of scandals, only after our proposal, the company started to receive its first planes. After that, no one controlled this giant.
This company mocked the anti-monopoly agency, known to all of us, by not allowing it to be inspected. This company, taking advantage of the weakness of our executive power, has been charging our people for services they have not provided for almost five years. Thus, they earn billions illegally," said the deputy.
He also talked about the increase in ticket prices.
"What I'm talking about is that the company sells the front three rows of seats in the economy class of the plane for an additional fee. For each of these seats, they charge from 6000 to 15000 tenge in addition to the price of the ticket. Well, let's take it, but there should be a service for that money! And there is no, those sitting in that seat are provided with the same service as those sitting in other economy class. I think it is illegal to charge extra if there is no additional service! The relevant authorities should investigate this matter and stop the exploitation of the people. I know that some defenders will come out and say: "They are doing this because there is a demand according to the law of the market." It is better for the authorized body not to forget that this company is a monopoly!", said the MD.
