Presidential candidate Meiram Kazhiken visited Karaganda region and met with employees of "ArcelorMittal", national portal "Adyrna" wrote.
The reason for coming to the region was the tragic incident that happened in the mine on November 3.
The candidate is worried about the frequent occurrence of tragic situations in the company's mines. In Temirtau, he met with "ArcelorMittal" employees and listened to their problems and suggestions. Many people complain that complaints remain on paper year after year, and authorities and management do not take measures to protect the interests of workers.
Meiram Kazhiken said that in the current situation, it was necessary to make a decision as soon as possible to prevent accidents. He mentioned that he once visited one of the German companies belonging to "Arcelormittal".
"When Lakshmi Mittal took over the company, he took it over to modernize it. I was at his company in Germany - everything is developed there. Because there the laws are strict and independent trade unions work there. There is no need to even talk about the salary. This salary is not decided by Mittal, but by the unions during the negotiations with the company management," he said.
In the end, the candidate said that he did not want to make empty promises.
"How can you look people in the eye and respect you when you promise and don't deliver? But I do. That's for sure," he concluded.
