Registration procedures for political parties have been simplified in Kazakhstan. Details were reported in the Ministry of Justice, adyrna.kz reported with a link to BaigeNews.kz.
The quantitative threshold for registration of political parties has been reduced from 20,000 to 5,000 members, the requirements for the minimum number of regional representations of political parties from 600 to 200 people, the requirements for the minimum number of an initiative group of citizens to create a political party from 1,000 to 700 people.
Norms have also been adopted to increase the duration of the founding congress on the creation of a political party from two to three months.
In addition, from January 1, 2023, territorial election commissions will be transferred to a professional permanent basis.
