In one week, 734 facts of unjustified increase in the price of socially important food were revealed across the country. This was announced by the press service of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"In the last week, 40,300 shops were raided. As a result, 734 stores were identified that raised food prices without reason. Data on the sale of goods of social importance at high prices were recorded mostly in Nur-Sultan city (278) and East Kazakhstan region (80). Further, 38 stores in Turkestan region, 33 in West Kazakhstan region, 32 in Kostanay and Mangistau regions, and 30 in Zhetysu region added value to goods. The least known of such facts is in Ulytau region. There were 6 cases of unjustified price hikes.
We warn that if the surcharge added to the price of socially important food exceeds 15 percent, then a fine of 300 MCI will be imposed," the press reports.
