Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov told about the work of the government to regulate food prices, the national portal "Adyrna" reported with reference to "Zakon.kz".
"Kazakhstan has no shortage of basic foodstuffs," Bakhyt Sultanov said at a government meeting.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Trade noted that there are six types of dependence on imports. The country also has export-dependent goods, such as grain. In this case, the increase in prices in foreign markets led to an increase in domestic prices.

"We are working on a number of areas using the mechanisms of intervention of the SEC and the Stabilization Fund. In some areas we stabilize products through turnover schemes when financing networks. They are provided in advance with contracts to maintain forward prices," Bakhyt Sultanov said.

The Minister said that the cost of import-dependent products would increase due to rising stock prices in the world.

"For example, the price of sugar will rise, whether you like it or not. Of course, this will affect the fact that one of our suppliers (Russia) restricts supply. The dollar itself is growing, the euro is growing," said Bakhyt Sultanov.

Recall that, according to experts, the annual increase in sugar prices in Kazakhstan amounted to 60.5%.
