The river Zhem flooded in Zhylyoi district of Atyrau region, as a result of which houses in Kulsary were flooded, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"On April 21 at 05:57 in the 7th village of Kulsary, Zhylyoi region, three yards were flooded due to the rising water level in the river Zhem. 10 people, including four children, were evacuated. They were placed in relatives' houses.
In order to protect the houses of the 7th village in the most dangerous area, work is underway to build a mound and lay sandbags. Employees and equipment of the Department of Emergency Situations of Atyrau region, local executive bodies, the district police department and large enterprises of Zhylyoi region will take part in the work. In total, 92 people and 24 vehicles, "the press service of the regional Department of Emergency Situations said.
