Kazakhstan has withdrawn its earlier application to host the 2026 World Ice Hockey Championship. The reasons for this decision are not specified, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
Switzerland became the only contender after Kazakhstan decided not to host the World Cup. The country has not yet defended this right, but Switzerland is very likely to become a leader.
The current Ice Hockey World Cup 2022 was not very successful for the national team of Kazakhstan. The only victory of our athletes in five games is the Italian team. So far, Kazakhstani hockey players have lost to Switzerland, Canada, Slovakia and Germany.
