A second flight arrived with UN staff to Almaty from Afghanistan

Another flight  arrived in Almaty with UN staff from Afghanistan. There were 108 people on board. The UN Office in Kazakhstan informed, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.

"Yesterday the second flight arrived with UN staff. There were 108 people on board. All placement details are the same as stated at the press briefing. All costs associated with their stay in Kazakhstan will be covered by the UN, "the UN Office in Kazakhstan said.

It should be reminded that earlier 135 UN staff arrived in Almaty from Kabul. About 60 of them remained in Kazakhstan to provide remote support to workers in Kabul. It was reported that all the visitors had UN passports, were international diplomats and could represent all 193 UN member states. Among the visitors are representatives of the United States, Canada, Asia, Africa and the CIS.

Later, at a briefing, Deborah Lions, Special Representative and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, said that a number of Afghan workers would arrive in Almaty.
