On the night of March 26, the national teams of Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein played their second match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with Kazakhstan emerging victorious, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”

The match took place at the “Rheinpark” stadium in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.

Kazakhstan’s interim head coach, Ali Aliyev, made several changes to the squad, giving 16-year-old rising star Dastan Satpayev his first start in the national team.

The game ended in a 2-0 victory for Kazakhstan.

Maxim Samorodov opened the scoring at the end of the first half, marking his fourth goal for the national team.

In stoppage time, 34-year-old Alexander Marochkin scored his first-ever goal for Kazakhstan in what was his 51st match for the national team.

In their first qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, Kazakhstan lost 1-3 to Wales. Before the match against Liechtenstein, Kazakhstan had gone 22 consecutive World Cup qualifiers without a victory.
