The city police department organized the Shymkent - drug-free city campaign.
About 2,500 people took part in the event. Among them are police officers, prosecutor's office, city youth, workers of communal institutions of district administrations, narcologists-doctors, sportsmen, volunteers and party representatives.
The purpose and importance of the event were conveyed to the participants specially gathered at the "Astana" square, and instructions were given.
During the event, efforts were made to identify and eliminate drug advertisements. Inter-street and inter-yard surveillance was conducted, warning citizens of legal responsibility for committing drug crimes, urging citizens to lead a healthy lifestyle and explanatory works on drug addiction prevention.
As a result of the event, the names of 2332 drug advertisements in the form of graffiti paint and their links on the Internet were deleted.
During the campaign, due to the vigilance of police officers and young activists, crimes related to illegal drug trafficking were also detected.
