Plans to build a nuclear power plant in Semey were publicly discussed

On August 8, plans for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan were publicly discussed in the city of Semey, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

Deputies of regional and city maslikhats, representatives of local executive bodies and public councils, environmental organizations, leading experts in the field of energy, scientists and active residents of the regional center gathered at the event and expressed their opinions on the construction of a nuclear power plant.

The organizer was the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, "Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Stations" LLP, the National Nuclear Center and the Institute of Nuclear Physics were invited as experts.

Speakers presented the plans and perspectives of nuclear energy development in Kazakhstan, as well as issues of safety, environmental friendliness and economic efficiency of NPP construction.
