Aibek Oralbay won gold at the World Championship held in Liverpool, reports Adyrna national portal.
In the final, he defeated Uzbek athlete Jahongir Zokirov to claim the gold medal.
The Head of State congratulated the boxers who triumphed at the World Championship:
“At the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, the winning streak of our national team was continued by Alua Balkybekova, Aida Abikeeva, Torekhan Sabyrkhan, Natalya Bogdanova, and Aibek Oralbay.
Kazakh boxers have shown an excellent result at the world stage.
However, ahead of us lies the Olympic Games in the United States. We must begin preparations now.
May the prestige of the Kazakh boxing school always remain high!” – the President’s congratulatory message stated.
