The 1st International TurkicSkills-2025 Professional Skills Championship has come to an end. The Kazakh national team emerged as the overall winner, proving its leadership among Turkic nations in technical and vocational education and training, Adyrna reports.

Kazakhstan’s team won 6 gold, 2 silver medals, and 1 “Best Medalion” award.

Held in Aktau from October 4–9 as part of the Year of Blue-Collar Professions, the TurkicSkills-2025 Championship brought together nearly 70 college students and young professionals from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. Participants competed in 10 skill categories, including engineering, information technology, manufacturing, robotics, and service industries.

During the closing ceremony, Asylbek Akhmetzhanov, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Education, highlighted that this was the first large-scale championship among Turkic-speaking countries, organized on Kazakhstan’s initiative.

“The TurkicSkills Championship marks a new era of cooperation between technical and vocational education institutions in Turkic-speaking nations. These days have become a vivid example of friendship, mutual understanding, collaboration, and exchange of experience,” — said the Vice Minister.

Ray English, a member of the WorldSkills International Council, praised Kazakhstan’s global potential:

“The scale and organization of this championship show that Kazakhstan is fully ready to host world-level competitions in professional skills. This experience could pave the way for future WorldSkills or WorldSkills Europe events.”

More than 5,000 visitors attended the championship, and around 100 cooperation memorandums were signed between colleges and enterprises.
