The draft law "On amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was published on June 25 to parliamentary publications.
According to the decision of the Parliament, the discussion of the project will last until July 5. Then the bill will be issued a referendum.
The draft law provides for more than 200 changes to Article 64 of the Constitution. Among them are branches on the ban on the extension of the President of Uzbekistan from five to seven years, to ban the death penalty, banning the country's citizen from extradition to foreign countries.
