On November 9, Kazakhstan’s men’s ice hockey team won the gold medal in the first Asian Championship held at “Khalyk Arena” by defeating Japan 5-1 in the decisive match, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
In the final game of the 2024 Asian Championship, Japan only needed a draw, as they were leading after victories over China and South Korea in the first two rounds. However, Kazakhstan’s players defeated Japan 5-1, securing the gold medal.
Thus, Oleg Bolyakin’s team became the champions of the inaugural Asian Ice Hockey Championship.
