Today is the day when Kazakhstan's first satellite "Kazsat" was successfully launched into orbit, reports the national portal "Adyrna".

Kazakhstan's first communications and broadcasting geostationary satellite "Kazsat" was launched into space from the Baikonur port on June 18, 2006 at 4 hours and 44 minutes. Ex-President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the ceremony of launching Kazakhstan's first Earth satellite "Kazsat".

All stages of the satellite launch were successful, and the rocket was launched into orbit. However, it was the first and most noisy Kazakh satellite. Kazsat is expected to have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years. The cost of the satellite is 65 million dollars.

According to the message issued by the Republican Space Communications Center, the spacecraft was lost between August 6 and 13, 2009 due to the government's decision.

Until then, the KazSat-1 satellite was made by order of Kazakhstan at the Khrunichev Center. Its guaranteed service life was supposed to be ten years. In June 2006, the device was put into orbit. However, KazSat-1 failed in June 2008.
