Information appeared in the media that the co-pilot of Air Astana was detained at the departure area of domestic flights at Almaty International Airport. According to the investigators, a 31-year-old man used and stored drugs.
According to the information confirmed by the press service of the airline, on April 23, the pilot who boarded the plane as a passenger at the Almaty airport was arrested under the influence of drugs. Police are investigating the case, and the employee has been suspended.
"The airline does not tolerate the use of alcohol or drugs by its employees, as flight safety is our priority. The airline conducts tests for the presence of alcohol or drugs in the blood of crews on a regular basis," the company's press service reported.
