In the Mangystau regional multidisciplinary hospital, cardiac surgeons-doctors now perform an aorta-coronary bypass operation through a small intercostal incision to perform heart surgery, - reports the press service of the regional hospital.

According to cardiosurgeon-doctor Abunasyr Sukhanov, aorta-coronary shunting operation was performed classically before. That is, during the operation, the patient's breast was cut up to 25 cm with a saw. And now, using the optimal method, a safe and easy operation has been introduced for the patient.

"A 67-year-old  resident underwent an aorta-coronary shunt operation through a 5-7 cm cut between the ribs. We made three shunts, and now the patient is doing well. He can move freely and raise his arms without pain. If we were to perform the operation through a mastectomy, the patient would lie on his back for 6 months. And now the patient is walking on his own on the third day after the operation," said cardiac surgeon-doctor Abunasyr Sukhanov.

In addition, the effectiveness of this surgery is that there is no risk of opening the breast, the rehabilitation period is fast, and the patient does not lose a lot of blood due to the small size of the incision.
