Yesterday, January 14, there was a catastrophic fire in Almaty - a warehouse where construction materials were stored burned down in Almaly district. This was announced by the Department of Emergency Situations, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to reports, the fire was reported to the Emergency Department at 20:25. Firefighters who arrived at the scene within 6 minutes found out that the warehouse storing building materials and paint products was burning with open flames. According to preliminary information, the total area of the fire exceeds 500 square meters.
"There was a danger of the fire spreading to the neighboring warehouses, the fire extinguishing work became more difficult because the warehouses were full of flammable products (bitumen, varnish and paint)," the department said in a statement.
The fire was isolated at 22:34 and completely extinguished at 22:50. 21 machines and more than 100 people were mobilized to extinguish the fire.
"The spread of the fire to neighboring warehouses was not allowed, as a result, 5 thousand square meters of goods storage warehouses of entrepreneurs were saved," it was reported.
