President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the forum of strategic partners “Kazakhstan – the Area of Academic Knowledge.” According to Akorda, the event was reported by “Adyrna.”

During the forum, he stated that partnerships have been established with 40 leading universities around the world, and 33 branches of foreign higher education institutions have been opened in Kazakhstan.

The President believes that the growing demographic indicators in Central Asian countries and in several neighboring states provide a significant opportunity to export higher education and attract foreign students to Kazakhstan.

“Kazakhstan aims to become part of the global education market. Therefore, we have set ourselves an ambitious but extremely important goal. To achieve it, partnerships have been established with 40 leading universities around the world, and 33 branches of foreign higher education institutions have been opened in our country.
Many of these branches offer programs in English, Russian, and Chinese. This is very important because multilingualism in education forms the foundation for openness and competitiveness — both for individuals, universities, and entire nations. This will continue to be true in the future, without any doubt.
Therefore, we have consciously taken a major step toward integrating into the global academic space.
In addition, all branches will have Kazakh language and History of Kazakhstan as mandatory subjects. This will help foreign students gain a deeper understanding of our culture and mentality,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
