Starting from August 31 in Kazakhstan, information about passengers traveling by air, rail, and sea transport will be transferred to law enforcement and special state bodies. These changes are being introduced to align with international standards, Adyrna reports.

Airlines, including foreign carriers, will submit data about passengers and crew twice – 48 hours before the flight and after check-in is completed. The information will include full name, date of birth, gender, citizenship, document details, flight number, departure and arrival times and route, seat number, baggage information, and (with the passenger’s consent) contact details.

Information about train tickets will be sent up to five times a day, and about sea transport up to four times a day. The collected data will include the passenger’s full name, document details, travel route, and, with consent, contact number.

All information will be recorded according to Astana time and stored for five years.

At the same time, the collection of personal data such as ethnic origin, political views, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, and sexual orientation is prohibited.
