As part of the ongoing competitive dialogue with potential nuclear technology suppliers for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, a meeting was held with South Korea’s KHNP (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power), the national portal “Adyrna” reports.
“The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, personnel training, local production development, and the implementation of joint projects. Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Atomic Energy Agency, Almasadam Satkaliyev, highlighted KHNP’s experience in designing, constructing, and operating modern reactors, emphasizing the importance of conducting an open and fair dialogue with international partners.
KHNP CEO, Jooho Whang, stated that South Korea is ready to offer its expertise for projects in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation,” the Atomic Energy Agency’s statement reads.
This meeting marked the final stage of negotiations with potential nuclear technology suppliers regarding the nuclear power plant construction project in Kazakhstan.
