The price of AI-92 gasoline in Kazakhstan is expected to rise, according to the Kazakhstan Fuel Association, as reported by Adyrna with reference to Kolesa.kz.
According to the information, the association stated that due to the government’s decision to stop regulating fuel prices, suppliers such as Energy Group and KazMunayGas have increased wholesale fuel prices starting February 1.
Experts predict that this month, businesses will purchase fuel at a higher cost. The price of AI-92 gasoline has already increased by an average of 4 tenge, and by the end of winter, fuel prices are expected to rise accordingly.
Industry specialists noted that 80% of every additional 3-4 tenge added to the price of gasoline will go to the budget as a new type of excise tax. Although amendments to approve the new excise tax rate have been prepared, they have not yet been officially adopted by the government.
Previously, officials had promised a gradual increase in fuel prices, with AI-92 expected to reach 300 tenge.
