A reed fire on the Caspian coast engulfed the territory of the state nature reserve "Akzhayik". This was announced by the public relations team of the regional emergency department, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

According to information, now the area of ​​the fire has reached 60 hectares.

"Reeds are burning 40 kilometers from the village of Taskala towards the Caspian Sea, facing the Kenozek rural district, which is located near the city of Atyrau. This is the coast of the Caspian Sea. As of September 20, 18:00 in the evening, the coastal area covered in flames has increased to 60 hectares. Around 7:40 p.m., the fire spread to the territory of the Akzhayik state nature reserve. On the sea coast, the wind blows from the southeast. The pressure is 5-7 meters/second. The air temperature is around +30C. The lack of mobile and radio communication in the area of ​​the fire is causing problems," the report said.

31 employees, 10 equipment, 1 water transport from the Atyrau regional emergency department, 20 workers and 5 equipment from the state nature reserve "Ak Zhayik", 3 people, 3 equipment from local executive bodies, 15 people, 2 equipment from other institutions were involved in extinguishing the fire.

"Now, an emergency headquarters has been established in the Department of Emergency Situations. On September 21, at 07:00 in the morning, the MI-8 helicopter of KazAviaSpas JSC is planned to be mobilized for aerial extinguishing of the cane fire," the department announced.
