On June 6, a truly unique quartet took the stage in a stunning premiere performance. During the second final of the 10th anniversary edition of the Virtuosos competition for young instrumentalists, jury members José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, HAUSER, and Dimash Kudaibergen delivered a breathtaking rendition of the legendary song “My Way”, according to Adyrna national portal citing DimashNews.
The powerful blend of soaring tenor voices and the soulful tones of the cello created a moving musical portrait of life itself.
The world-famous hit “My Way” was originally recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1968, at the age of 53. Years later, in 1994 – the year Dimash was born – the legendary Three Tenors (Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti) performed this very piece as a tribute to Sinatra on his 79th birthday during their renowned “The Three Tenors in Concert.”
Now, decades later, on the stage of the Virtuosos project, maestros Carreras and Domingo revisited this classic, showing that the creative spirit knows no age limits. Joining them were two globally acclaimed younger artists: Dimash Kudaibergen and HAUSER. The performance symbolized a beautiful passing of the torch — the younger generation embracing the priceless musical legacy of their great predecessors.
Dimash shared his heartfelt reflections:
“It has always been my dream to perform with Maestro Domingo and Maestro José Carreras. If you saw our press conference, you probably noticed that I spoke as a fan — a young admirer — because standing in front of such legends and making decisions isn’t easy.
For them, I represent the younger generation, and I was very nervous, but at the same time deeply inspired. They still perform, they still give their all. I eagerly await their performances. May God bless them with many more years!
I remember when I first met Maestro Domingo — I was truly overwhelmed. I told him: ‘Maestro, I became a musician, a singer because of you. You’ve played a major role in my life.’ And he replied: ‘I really enjoy your art, your voice, your music. This is a great day for me as well.’
I’ve had the honor of meeting many global stars — Jackie Chan, Andrea Bocelli, and others — and I want to thank God and the Virtuosos project for such amazing opportunities. May God bless everyone who brought this incredible program to life.”
This performance was not just a musical event — it was a moment where generations met, talents united, and hearts were moved worldwide.
