An earthquake was recorded in the Kegen district of the Almaty region, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”

The information was provided by the “National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research” under Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.7, with an estimated intensity of 3.5 at the epicenter. The epicenter was located 10 kilometers from the village of Karkara in Kegen district, and 201 kilometers southeast of Almaty city.

According to the Institute of Seismology under the National Academy of Sciences of neighboring Kyrgyzstan, the epicenter was near the Kyrgyz border, 25 kilometers northeast of the village of Karkyra.

“No tremors were felt at the epicenter,” said the official statement from Kazakhstani seismologists.

At present, there are no reports of casualties or damage.
