The Ministry of Transport plans to launch air mobility vehicles that will transport passengers between cities. This was announced by Minister of Transport Marat Karabaev, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to the minister, last year ministry representatives discussed the issue of transporting passengers by air mobility vehicle from Almaty airport to Alatau city in South Korea.
“An air mobility vehicle is a type of small helicopter that operates on hydrogen and can carry up to five people. This technology is currently being well-developed by companies in South Korea and the United States. One of the Kazakhstani companies has shown interest in developing the air mobility sector in our country. We are studying this issue in more detail. We are currently working on the feasibility of using air mobility vehicles as a pilot project in our country,” said Karabaev at a government meeting.
The minister stated that the first stage of the air mobility project will involve transporting passengers between Almaty and Alatau. The pilot project is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
