The “Adyrna” national portal, citing KazTAG, reports new information about the plane that crashed near Aktau.
According to the agency, the Flightradar24 website highlighted data related to flight J28243, which was en route from Baku to Grozny. The aircraft crashed yesterday near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Data from the Flightradar24 map indicates that the plane disappeared from radar near Makhachkala and reappeared 12 minutes later near Ardon in North Ossetia. It circled in the area for some time, disappeared again, and resurfaced 1.5 hours later over the Caspian Sea near Aktau. These irregularities raise suspicions of unknown incidents affecting the flight route.
Reports suggest the crash might have been caused by a bird striking the aircraft engine, a theory confirmed by Russian aviation official Artem Korenyako.
Currently, 287 rescuers and 65 units of equipment are working at the crash site. According to the latest reports, 29 people were injured, and 38 people, including six Kazakhstani citizens, lost their lives. Among the victims were children.
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev over the tragedy.
