Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili declared the results of the October 26 parliamentary election illegal, reports Adyrna.
The head of state emphasized that the voting process was entirely falsified. She held a special briefing and called on Georgians to protest against the election on Rustaveli Avenue on October 28.
“I do not recognize this election. It is impossible to acknowledge it. Recognizing it would be equivalent to accepting Russian influence over our country and Georgia’s submission to Russia,” said Salome Zourabichvili.
As a reminder, on Sunday, Georgia’s Central Election Commission announced the victory of the “Georgian Dream” party, founded by billionaire and Russian Credit Bank founder Bidzina Ivanishvili. The “Strong Georgia” and “For Georgia” parties also secured seats in the parliament. A total of 18 parties, over 3.5 million voters, and 1,700 observers participated in the election.
