On October 7, an electric scooter caught fire while its owner was riding it at around 7 PM in the Longhua district of Shenzhen, China. The incident was captured on the vehicle’s dashcam, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
The scooter’s battery exploded, causing the rider to fall off, but they survived. The individual was promptly taken to the hospital.
During the investigation into the cause of the incident, it was determined that this was not the first case of spontaneous combustion involving electric vehicles. Local media warned residents who use personal mobility devices to be extremely careful and vigilant.
